Oktoberfest gives the weekend a German flavor
September 26, 2012 by James
The Newport Oktoberfest is a celebration of traditional German song, dance, food, and entertainment and this year it is being held under a ‘Munich-style’ festival tent and is being sponsored by the German Beer Breweries.
As in past years, the Newport Oktoberfest has a great line up for this year. Guests will enjoy continual live German entertainment, traditional foods and beverages from the country, and German dancing. Friday’s performances feature the Opening Ceremonies, the Goldbach Trio, and the Elizian Dance Group.
Saturday will host the Alpen Echos & Goldbach Trio, and a German-Styled Wedding, while Sunday will see the Goldbach Trio and Alpen Echos there to entertain. As part of this festival, the brand new ‘Cincinnati Beer Run’ will be held to celebrate the brewing history of the Queen City region. Runners will leave Newport Oktoberfest at 7:00 pm and proceed through four beer stops before crossing the finish line. This run requires advanced registration, which can be completed online.
Poster printing and flyer printing by local print companies may have been used to promote this enjoyable Oktoberfest celebration to the public and surrounding communities. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to this ‘rain-or-shine’ event. It all begins this Friday, September 28, and runs until Sunday at This festive celebration is taking place at Riverboat Row located at Newport on the Levee in Newport, Kentucky, just a short drive from Southgate.
