Kids to discover the wonders of reading
December 28, 2012 by Mark
The ‘Imagine a Reading Wonderland’ is geared for children between the ages of two and twelve to read books and keep a log that can be entered at any of Kenton County Public Libraries. This event runs the entire month of December, although all logs must be turned in by the 5:00 pm deadline tomorrow.
During the event, children will receive a reading log from the library in their area, as well as a colorful Christmas bookmark. All the children have to do from that point is read or listen to five of their favorite books and list them on the other side of the book log. After reading or listening to all five books, the children need to return their book logs to their local library and they will receive a prize. There is also a winter raffle into which the children’s names will be entered, although children may enter the winter raffle as often as they wish to. All draws for the raffle prizes will take place during the first week in January.
Poster printing and flyer printing were probably the methods used to promote this exciting reading program to the children of the community. It is free to attend and all children are welcome to participate.
All book logs must be returned to the library before 5:00 pm this Saturday, December 29. Book logs should be returned to the library in Southgate, Kentucky. For additional information on this program, please visit the Kenton Library website or call any Southgate library.
