Very veggie event coming up tomorrow evening

January 22, 2013 by

An upcoming ‘Winter Veggie Cooking Class’ has been designed to help people who want to become more fit, eat more veg, and learn how to prepare winter veggies. This event is being sponsored by the Winston Products Company and should be highly educational.

Flyer printing may have been used to advertise this cooking class to people in this community and the surrounding region. This is a great course for older children and parents, and an excellent way to enjoy some shared time together.

Guests are invited to join the Winter Veggie Cooking Class to learn how to make an array of winter vegetable dishes, as well as how to cook winter vegetables on their own. This course is being instructed by Jim Whaley, who will show guests how to get the most out of their winter vegetable treats.

Students will learn the two basic cooking methods, blanching and roasting, and will prepare greens, cruciferous and hard veggies, squash, and soft veggies into recipes that include dishes with grains, legumes, and pasta for baking dishes. When the student leaves, they will have the knowledge to cook winter veggies using at least 12 different techniques. Each student will receive a number of recipe sheets, so they can practice combining their winter veggies into various dishes.

The cost is $25 per person. The Winter Veggie Cooking Class will be occurring tomorrow, January 23, beginning at 6:30 pm at the Winston Products Company located at 2345 Carton Drive in Louisville, Kentucky. To register, please visit the Winston Industries website or call 502-495-5400.
