Louisville print company representatives were on hand to witness the unveiling of a new mobile app that creates personalized photo products during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
Mediaclip, known in the print industry as a developer of programs that personalizes printed products, demonstrated their new mobile application at the Venetian during the annual show. The app allows the user to access their photos, no matter where the files are stored, and create a personalized product. That product might be a greeting card or a postcard using their favorite photos which could be on a photo sharing website or social networking site. The user, from their smart phone, can purchase their creation, order the printed product and have it mailed to them.
If the user was a dinner guest, for example, and took photos with their phone, the mobile app would let them take the photo, insert it into a custom template such as a thank you card, order it, pay for it and have it shipped even before they left the party.
Users can also share their custom project by emailing or posting on a site such as Facebook and encourage friends to create their own product.
“Our goal is to ensure that our customers can effectively maximize the channels they use to connect with their community of users, whether they are offering the online, desktop, kiosk or mobile version of our software,” said Marion Duchesne, Mediaclip’s chief executive officer. “The greatest opportunity from the mobile environment is to be able to offer convenience to people on the go, which means pretty much everyone these days.”
The new mobile app was developed in HTML5. A Mediaclip spokesperson hails it as being a:
“great user experience on new emerging platforms such as phone and tablets.”
