Louisville hosts Color Run

The ever-popular Happiest 5K on the Planet Color Run is coming to Louisville in June.

A unique and fun paint race emphasizes happiness, good health, and the joy of being an individual. It has become the largest event series in the country and has expanded to over 20 other countries, as well.

The event focuses more on well-being than time tested racing. Each runner is covered from the top of the head to the tips of the toes with different colored powdered as they run through each kilometer point. Only two rules apply: Each participant must wear a white shirt at the beginning point and should be doused in a rainbow of colors upon finishing.

Upon the completion of the race, a Finish Festival will celebrate the accomplishments of the racers. The party will present music and dancing along with huge color throwing creating a sea of color.

The managing company partners with charities to assist with fundraising. To date, over $1,000,000 has been donated to over 80 charities on local and national levels.

Banner printing is an important part of organizing a large outdoor event. Local print companies are contracted by entities to prepare the banners according to specifications. Usually the banners are used as directional signage throughout a race course to keep the participants on the right path and on track.

Planning is underway for the highly anticipated event, which is scheduled for June 7, 2014. For more information on the Louisville Happiest 5K on the Planet Color Run and to register, visit the event website.
