Louisville has big plans for Independence Festival

The Fifth Third Waterfront Independence Festival is scheduled for this summer and will take place on the Great Lawn at Waterfront Park. The festival is an annual event with many activities and entertainment throughout the two days. The highlight for most people is the fireworks display featured both nights.
It gets off and running on July 3, with the festival opening at 5:00 pm. The Catfish Louis Kids’ area opens at the same time, presenting stacks of fun activities for the children. The Coors Beer Garden and Festival Food Market will open at that time as well. The National Anthem will be sung at 5:55 pm and at 6:00 pm ‘Ode 2 the Gnu’ will be performed.
The Louisville Bats Baseball team will play the Indianapolis Indians at 7:05 pm with entertainment taking place through the rest of the evening until 10:00 pm. Fireworks over the Ohio River will light the skies at 10:00 pm. The next day, the same basic schedule applies although different entertainment will take place.
Vendors will have the opportunity to display and sell their various goods, including food, crafts, arts, gifts and other interesting items. Working with local print companies is standard for vendors in preparing materials needed for the operation and display of the booths. Those vendors who arrange their business card printing orders in advance and arrive with plenty of digital business cards are the most likely to make a meaningful impression.
