Last chance for Shakespeare fans
July 27, 2012 by James
Louisville locals will have their last opportunity to see Shakespeare in the Park 2012’s presentation of Much Ado about Nothing this Sunday, July 29. These special performances are taking place at the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheatre, in Central Park in Louisville, Kentucky. This has been taking place every day excluding Mondays for the past two weeks and has begun each evening at 8:30pm.
This production of the well-known Shakespearean comedy is directed by Jane Page, who has taken the original works and turned it into what might be called a ‘spaghetti western’. This version of the love story is filled with humor, wit, and has been designed to be enjoyed by all age groups. This play fits nicely into the traditional Shakespeare in the Park Series performed by the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, which provides full-length plays in front of large audiences.
The Kentucky Shakespeare in the Park provides the opportunity for all people, at any age, to enjoy the creative and brilliant work of this masterful playwright. The C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheatre is an open-air performance venue located right in the heart of downtown Old Louisville. With it being an evening, outdoor event, the audience is reminded to dress appropriately as it may get chilly.
Poster printing and digital flyer printing may have been used to promote this series to the residents and surrounding communities throughout its schedule. Admission is free, although VIP seating is available for $20. For more information, please visit the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheatre’s website or the Shakespeare in the Park website.
