Golf event swings back to Louisville

The 2014 PGA Championship will take place in Louisville during the summer, marking its the 96th event and the first time back to Louisville in 14 years.

The golf tournament will take place at the Valhalla Golf Club which has undergone a multi-million dollar major renovation over the past year. New greens have been added at all 18 holes built to the USGA specifications, presenting an exhilarating challenge for the players. The additional grass is heat-tolerant, which should help it suit the weather conditions. The Valhalla bunkers have all been either altered or deep-cleaned and there has been an expansion to the practice range.

Registration for volunteers is underway. An event as prestigious and labor-intensive as the PGA Championship requires a great deal of work from people willing to invest the time on a voluntary basis.

Print companies will no doubt be called upon to assist with the print projects involved in a large event. Banner printing is used by sponsors, as the banners contain the company information and are hung in highly visible locations.

Poster printing is a key element for marketing events as well. Posters are generally printed in full color with images and graphics with a glossy finish. They can be mounted on flat surfaces in high traffic areas to attract attention and increase participation.

The 2014 PGA Championship will take place over August 4 – 10, and tickets will be sold through a registration program. The event website has more information and contact details.
