Rock along with the Rollergirls

Roller skating is more than a sidewalk hobby for local women in Lexington, it is a competitive sport with many matches and competitions throughout the year.
Billed as Lexington’s only women’s flat track roller derby league, the Rock Rollergirls (commonly referred to as the Rock) plays several teams on home ground as well as traveling to other locations for games. All home games are played at the Lexington Center, conveniently located in the center of downtown amidst hotels, restaurants, museums, retail shops, and beautiful parks.
Four home games are scheduled for the remainder of the summer for the Rock team, with the next one on June 23 against the Jewel City Rollergirls from Huntington, WV. After this match, the next event is highly anticipated as there will be an armed forces salute bout when the Rock plays the Gem City Rollergirls from Dayton, OH, on July 14. Other out of area teams will be traveling to Lexington including the Greenbriar Roller Vixens, the New River Valley Rollergirls, and the Red River Sirens.
In October, the Rock will be traveling for the All-Kentucky Tournament being held at the Bank of Kentucky Center in Cincinnati, hosted by the Black-n-Bluegrass Rollergirls.
Local printing companies are kept active in providing printing services for the players as well as the various competition organizers. The printers focus on providing posters, banners, and catalog printing for the teams, hosting venues, and participating vendors.
More information is available on the Rock RollerGirls website as well as ticket purchase options and an email address to direct questions regarding the roller competitions.
