November 19, 2012 by Sarah
People looking for a unique running or galloping experience might find that the Lexington Rock ‘n Roll Marathon is the place to be in March 2013. Surrounded by the most beautiful horse farms in the world and a historic, quaint downtown area, running a half marathon in Kentucky just doesn’t get any better.
‘Rock ‘n Roll’ signifies that the event will be packed with entertainment. A live concert will take place at the finish line to help celebrate everyone’s significant accomplishment of completing a 13.1 mile race.
To keep the runners spirits jamming, live bands will perform at every mile of the course. Many music genre bands will be performing including rock, alternative, punk, jazz, blues, and soul. The event is taking band applications at this time for those wishing to entertain the masses at this lively event. Music samples, bios, and publicity photos will be required.
Cheering is part of every competitive event and the marathon is no exception. The event organizers are inviting high-school and middle-school dance and cheerleading teams to participate in lining the course and cheering the runners on.
Marathon organizers often use the services of printing companies to help prepare the materials needed to promote the event. Flyer printing is a common order as flyers can be distributed in advance of the event from many different sources and locations to create interest and excitement.
