August 4, 2013 by Mark
A free workshop on financial planning for college will be held this coming week at the Center for Entrepreneurs in Lexington.
This workshop is geared towards all high school students who are considering furthering their education by attending a junior college or university.
Even students who may not qualify for financial aid might benefit from attending, as information will also be given out on paying for college in the most tax efficient way.
Students will learn how to pick colleges based on their financial aid packages, how a private university can cost less than a state school, what assets are considered for the U.S. Department of Education’s family contribution, and how to customize a payment plan to fit into the family’s budget.
The event is free, but reservations are required and can be made by calling (859) 685-2171 and using reservation code EVCE. The center is located at 1450 N. Broadway, Lexington, and the session begins at at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2013
After that, employers will have an opportunity to learn if they are taking the proper steps to ensure their job applications, employee handbooks, and agreements are up to date at the Employment Law Breakfast briefing at 8:00 am on Wednesday, August 7. It will take place at Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, 300 West Vine Street, Suite 1100, Lexington.
Information will be offered on provisions that must be included in handouts. Registration will begin at 7:30 am. With a possibility of networking existing, arriving with digital business cards might prove to be prudent.
