On Saturday, April 21st, the community of Florence will be participating in “The Great American Cleanup”. This program is being organized by the City of Florence’s Public Services Department found at 8100 Ewing Boulevard in Florence, Kentucky. The Great American Cleanup will take place between the hours of 8:30am and 12:30pm.

Participants in this event are asked to meet at the Florence Public Services Maintenance Facility, located at 7800 Tanners Lane, directly across from the Goodwill Industries store. Volunteers who turn out to this even will receive a free event t-shirt, as well as the cleaning supplies necessary to clean the area they are assigned to cleanup. A continental breakfast will be provided to all volunteers who arrive to help, and transportation to and from the assigned locations throughout the city will be provided by the public services’ crew. Volunteers will spend the day collecting litter along all of Florence’s roadways, but when collecting the litter they need to be looking for the “One” special piece of trash, which can be returned to the maintenance facility for a great prize.

After the cleanup, volunteers will be picked up and returned to the maintenance facility for a complimentary lunch cookout. Refreshments will be provided throughout the morning. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend and flyer printing may be found about this event at the various city buildings. This event is free to all, but younger children should be accompanied by adults.
