The St. Elizabeth Healthcare Honor Run Half Marathon is on its way back to Florence for its 3rd year.

The popular event benefits Honor Flight Tri-State, which sends veterans of World War II, Vietnam and Korea to visit the memorials in Washington DC.

The Honor Run has a two-person relay team in which one runner will complete the first seven miles, followed by the second runner traveling the remaining 6.1 miles. Runners completing the second half of the course will be bussed to the relay exchange zone. As with any major road race, the finish line will be aligned with fans to cheer runners on as they cross under the banners at the end of their run.

This year’s event will also feature a shorter distance 5K run and an Honor Run Kids One Mile run. All race participants will be provided with online coupons providing discounts at businesses and restaurants in the area. The runners will also receive a T-shirt and a medal at the finish line.

There will be water and Gatorade stops throughout the course, and after the event runners will be provided with food and drinks.

The event will take place on Sunday, November 13 at 7:00am. The race with begin and end at the Florence Y’All water tower located at the Florence Mall. Registration is available online.
