Country showdown coming to Florence

August 16, 2013 by

Dr. Ralph Stanley, Nathan Stanley, and the Clinch Mountain Boys are making a grand performance at Turfway Park in Florence as part of the new tour commitments made this year. Tomorrow evening, these country performers will provide the audience with an evening to enjoy some of the famous country music found in the United States.

Dr. Stanley has built up quite a reputation over the course of more than six decades, during which he has entertained audiences and really made a name for himself in the genre during this time. After a few years the Stanley brothers, now including Dr. Stanley’s grandson, Nathan, joined with the Clinch Mountain Boys to become one of the most popular acts among country fans.

Some of the songs by the Stanley Brothers include ‘Man of Constant Sorrow’, ‘Little Maggie’, ‘Rank Strangers’, and ‘Angel Band’. Receiving his first Grammy award in 2002, Ralph Stanley was awarded the Best Male Country Vocal Performance for his rendition of the popular song ‘Oh Death’, featured in the movie ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’. Since this time, he has received many other awards and recognitions, including the ‘Living Legend’ award. This group performs about 100 show dates each year, usually generating lots of promotional flyer printing in the process.

Tickets for this performance can be purchased at Ticket Leap for $20 per person. The country stars will be on stage on Saturday, August 17, starting at 7:00 pm at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky. For additional information, visit the Dr. Ralph Stanley website.
