From Friday, June 8th until Sunday, June 10th the Great American Band Festival will be taking place in downtown Danville, Kentucky. This is an all day event.

This is the 23rd annual Great American Brass Band Festival, GABBF, taking place in the downtown core. This year the theme for the festival is Bayou and Brass, which is a New Orlean’s themed party on the street in traditional Mardi Gras Style. There will be traditional Louisiana-type foods and drinks based on this them, plus a number of planned activities that the whole family can enjoy. This is a one-of-a-kind event that works for the preservation of brass band music using performances and education. This festival showcases diversity in brass band performances using a selection of genres, performances, and presentations. These performances are entertaining for all the generations, even musical experts. Each year, hundreds of visitors flock to downtown Danbury to enjoy this wonderful festival.

This year some of the world’s best trumpeters including Allen Vizzutti, Doc Severinsen, and Jens Lindeman, plus many others will take to the stage and perform solos. This festival works towards making this experience an outstanding and educational event for the whole family. The audience will love the rich sounds as the brass plays familiar tunes that will have them tapping along.
