Women’s Initiative Annual Breakfast served up later this week

January 23, 2013 by

The ‘Women’s Initiative Annual Breakfast’ will be featuring Tori Murden McClure as the guest and keynote speaker at this year’s event, which is on offer tomorrow. Since McClure is president of Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, this is very exciting news that poster printing and flyer printing will no doubt be used to publicize.

McClure was the first woman to row solo from one side of the Atlantic Ocean to the other. She is also the first to ever travel by skis through the full 750 miles required to reach the geographic South Pole from the Ice Shelf. She is an avid mountaineer and has climbed in many continents, carrying full emergency certification as a medical technician for wilderness and urban areas.

‘A Pearl in the Storm’, her first book, was picked up and published by Harper-Collins, 2009. McClure is a long time resident of Louisville and has held a number of professional positions before arriving at Spalding University. Currently, she sits as Director on a number of Board of Directors, but also maintains a number of leadership positions in the community. McClure’s books will be for sale at this event and she will be delighted to sign them. The group will also be asking guests to bring in slightly used books that will be donated to the ‘One to One: Practicing Reading Program’.

The Women’s Initiative Annual Breakfast is open to members and will be held tomorrow, January 24, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am at the Receptions Banquet and Conference Center, South, located at 1379 Donaldson Road in Erlanger, Kentucky, just a short drive from Crescent Springs. For pricing details or more information, please visit the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce website or call their office at 859-578-8800.
