Woodland Hills job fairs offer plenty of opportunities

For those seeking work, the 2013 Burbank Job Expo will be held from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm this Thursday, January 24 at the Holiday Inn, 150 East Angeleno Avenue, Burbank.

This event is sponsored by Nationwide Career Events. Job opportunities and information will be available on jobs from entry level to management careers. Vendors onsite will provide information on a variety of jobs, schools, franchises and work from home opportunities.

Job seekers should have a prepared resume and dress in attire appropriate for the job position they are seeking, so generally business attire. All vendors will be looking to hire employees. Admission to the event is free. Visit Nationwide’s website to register in advance.

The event is put on by Coast to Coast Career Fairs. Other upcoming job fair dates are February 18 at the Doubletree San Diego Hotel in Mission Valley and April 16 at the Radisson Los Angeles Airport Hotel.

Job hunters are advised that one of the keys to getting a second look from a potential employer, and possibly hired, is to have a good resume that highlights skills for which the company is looking. They should also make sure to take a cover letter to job fairs that further highlight job accomplishments. It also can help to include reference letters from professional sources that elaborate on an applicant’s accomplishments.

Bearing this in mind, a local printing company can be a great resource for copies and advice on making a great first impression with resumes and cover letters.
