Trio of business workshops to provide startup tips

October 12, 2013 by

Starting a business and making it productive is a major task, but three workshops during the week ahead hope to make the process a little easier.

First, the NEXT program is helping owners of startups get off on the right foot by using examples from established companies. Mentors will offer advice on building a customer base, using customer feedback, and choosing the right companies towards which to pitch.

The workshop begins at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the CoLoft, 920 Santa Monica Boulevard in Santa Monica, just 30 minutes from Woodland Hills.

Another important element to businesses is pitching to venture companies. A workshop on the same evening will address this concern at 7:00 pm at General Assembly La, 1520 Second Street in Santa Monica.

This workshop will help businesses find the right investment companies aim for, and the best way to go about doing it. The workshop also includes mistakes to avoid when fundraising and what investors are looking for in a business, taking into account that it can be just as important to learn what not to do.

Also, Pitch Flip LA 2013 will show entrepreneurs the art of pitching to investors at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 15, at Cross Campus, 820 Broadway in Santa Monica. In this roundabout event, investors will pitch their companies to entrepreneurs in search of funds.

Finding appropriate investors is a real boon to companies, and digital business cards will help businesses and investors stay in touch.
