An introduction to product management skills will be held this weekend at General Assembly La, 1520 Second Street in Santa Monica, only 25 minutes from Woodland Hills.

Michael Jacobs, the chief executive officer of Dreamware, will teacher both designers and developers successful ways to build and launch digital products to make money.

This workshop will be hands-on and will introduce participants to product management skills, gving them tips on how to analyze the market and identify distribution channels. It should be ideal for those interested in product management, as well as those who want to launch their own digital products.

Jacobs is the founder of his company and heads up its product department. He is also an instructor at UC Berkeley and the University of Arizona. Guests can listen to him as of 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 20.

They can then follow this workshop up with one on digital disruption and mobile media at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, July 23 at Santa Monica College, 3151 S. Bundy Drive, Los Angeles.

This workshop will offer tips from industry leaders that can be adapted to startup businesses and enterprises. Speakers include Jon Michael Bukosky, CEO and founder of Frag’d Media; Kevin Goslar, director of engineering at Originate and Jeffrey Papen, founder and visionary for Peak Hosting.

Goslar has worked on many large scale applications for the web at Google, and Papen has worked with Hulu, eHarmony, and MySpace.

A question-and-answer period will follow the round table discussion. Many how-to books and self-help materials can help entrepreneurs get ahead and can often be found via local printing companies.
