Outdoor ice rink opens in Woodland Hills for the holidays

November 18, 2012 by

Those looking for some winter wonder are invited to slap on some skates and head to Woodland Hills for some good old fashioned ice skating through January 27, 2013. Young and old alike will no doubt enjoy skating under the sun by day and under the stars at night.

Located in the Westfield Promenade, 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd. the rink has weekend and holiday opening hours of 9:00 am to midnight and opens from 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm on school days. Admission is $13 for students, $12 for children, and $15 for adults, which includes $4 for skate rental. These fees include all-day access.

The rink is one of the southland’s largest, at 60 x 120 feet. The rink is also available for rent for birthday parties, holiday parties, field trips, fundraisers, and lessons. Helmets, double bladed skates, and skate mates are available for the inexperienced skater.

It would be unsurprising if poster printing were to be used to promote some of the rink’s upcoming programs and courses. Registration is now being accepted for skating lessons for all ages and levels. Classes begin November 26 and last eight weeks through January 27. A 30-minute introductory class is only $10 and free for anyone who also signs up for skating lessons during the class. Intro classes are 10:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays. Power skating lessons will be held on Saturday mornings for skaters who can skate both forward and backward with some speed.

For more information on any events at the rink, call (818) 854-4151.
