Home and landscaping expo coming to Sacramento

Over 30,000 homeowners are expected to descend on the Northern California Home and Landscape Expo, which will be held this weekend at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, just 15 minutes from West Sacramento. The event will feature the latest in designs for homes and gardens.
Workshops will be offered on patio covers, caring for Japanese maple trees, remodeling, inexpensive landscaping design, water wise landscapes, kitchen design, sprinkler installation, edible landscaping, and solar installation.
There will be a drawing to win $10,000 in free doors from Hall’s Window Center each day. The Landscape Design Competition will feature top competitors designing showcase gardens of 1,000 square feet.
Other prizes include a $10,000 garage makeover by We’re Organized, which includes new paint, floor sealing, and cabinetry; a wireless weather station from Mountain Air Whole House Fans; a patio door from Efficient Energy Solutions; professional landscape design by Stone Creek Landscape & Construction; pool tile cleanings from Elite Pool Tile Cleaning; and a whole house cleaning package valued at $500 from 3R Complete Floor Care.
Event hours are noon – 7:00 pm today and 10:00 am – 6:00 pm tomorrow and Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults with children age 12 and younger free. Seniors age 60 and older can get in this afternoon for the reduced price of $2. For more information, call (800) 343-1740.
