West Sacramento residents seeking more information on the Medi-cal managed care programs can attend a seminar next week at the California State Association of Counties, 1020 11th St. 2nd Floor, Sacramento.
Beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 17, this seminar will discuss the areas in which Medi-Cal is performing well, the areas in which improvements are needed, the performance of different health plans, and how a dashboard approach to managed care works.
A video taping of the seminar will be available after the event. This seminar will provide vital information that residents need to know before they sign up for a healthcare plan.
Jobseekers who are also military veterans or are on active duty, together with their spouses, can attend a special resource and career fair catering to them on December 18 at the Lions Gate Conference Center, 3410 Westover St., Sacramento.
The event begins at 10:00 am and jobseekers will be able to meet face-to-face with recruiters. Applicants should dress in business attire and bring copies of their résumés for on-site interviews. The event is also open to the general public.
Finally, and in the festive spirit, a wine tasting event will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 21 at Total Wine & More, 2121 Arden Way, Sacramento. Winery owner Larry Pina will talk about his beverages and guests can enjoy appetizers and autographed bottles, while learning all about wines and the foods they best complement. Many wineries use catalog printing to let residents know of the samples they have available for purchase.
