The Mad Hatter Festival returns to Vallejo
November 24, 2012 by Mark
The Mad Hatter Holiday Parade and Festival and the Mad Hatter Masked Ball return on December 1, and are just two ways in which locals can entertain themselves as Christmas approaches, and there are likely to be plenty of calls for brochure printers to publicize some of the upcoming events.
The masked ball will begin at 7:00 pm at Vallejo Gardens, 620 Marin Street, Vallejo. This year’s grand marshal is Joey “Jaws” Chestnut, who is ranked #1 professional eater in the world. Lining the parade route will be Art Cars from Burning Man, along with fire shooting dragons and snails in celebration of Alice’s 160th birthday and Vallejo’s ceremonial lighting of the tree.
The parade will be held from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm, with a route traveling through historic downtown Vallejo from 842 Georgia Street to the Waterfront. For more information, call (925) 451-7682.
As of today, November 23, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will host its 6th annual Holiday in the Park from right up until January 6, 2013. Festivities include Santa’s Workshop, Toyland, a 65-foot Christmas tree, Candy Cane Lane, and Snow Hill.
Families will enjoy ‘Scrooge the Musical!’ at the Empress Theatre, as well as the 17th annual Christmas Concert in St. Peter’s Chapel, which is located on Mare Island.
The Mad Hatter’s Grand Home Tour of Victorian homes will begin at Dance Unlimited with a reception. The tour will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and costs $25. For more information call (925) 451-7682.
