Mysteries of wine flavors deciphered this weekend

August 6, 2013 by

Just 35 minutes from Vallejo, Stuart Ake of the Tasting Lab will teach participants how to evaluate wine by dissecting base wines for their flavor, texture, and aroma in a few days’ time.

After learning what goes into a good wine, participants will learn how to create their own unique blend. They can learn how to evaluate the final product at the Blending Experience at 11:00 pm this Sunday, August 11, at the Sebastiani Winery, 389 Fourth Street in Sonoma.

A similar event occurring at the same time is the Boisset Wine Living Tasting and Ambassador Program at the Buena Vista Winery, 18000 Old Winery Road in Sonoma.

Guests can learn how to start a wine business with the Boisset Family Estates. This represents an opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to start their own business through marketing wine from some of the best wineries in the area. All attendees will receive a free bottle of wine.

Flavorsome fun does not stop there, as at 1:00 pm on Sunday the 7th annual Taste of Concord event comes to the Todas Santos Plaza at 2072 Salvio Street in Concord.

This is a family-friendly event that will feature food samples from some of the finest dining establishments for a donation of $20. Wine and beer tasting will be available and it will feature some of the finest breweries and wineries around the county.

A silent auction will feature items donated by many local businesses, perhaps leading to a need for catalog printing services in preparation.
