Torrance Honors Our Armed Forces With Parade and Festivities

April 19, 2012 by

Residents of Torrance, California will celebrate Armed Forces Day with a parade and festivities to be held from May 18-20, 2012. The parade itself will take place on May 19. While the event aims to celebrate the heroic acts of all veterans of every branch, Torrance’s Armed Forces Day Parade has highlighted one specific branch of the United States’ military since its start 53 years ago. This year, the parade will feature the bravery of the United States Air Force.

Last year’s Armed Forces Day Parade attracted almost 60,000 individuals to the area. Due to their enthusiastic participation, Torrance residents and those traveling to the area make a great audience for printed flyers, banners, posters, and postcards that local business owners and event hosts may place in high-traffic areas. Additionally, the volume of press the parade generates provides an opportunity for banners and posters to appear in the background of photos and news reports.

Two family-friendly concerts are also scheduled to be held on May 18 as part of the festivities. At 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., expect heavy traffic outside the James Armstrong Theatre, located at 3330 Civic Center Drive. The concert, which features the Air Force Band of Goldenwest, is provided at no cost by the city. This is a great bargain that is sure to attract families, music-lovers, and individuals on a budget. If this is the audience you’re looking to reach, be sure to have printed flyers and postcards ready to hand out as the concert ends and the crowd exits the theater.
