Fast-moving Torrance folk can get ready for that filling Thanksgiving meal by participating in a Turkey Trot Fun Run at 8:00 am on Thanksgiving morning in Torrance.
The 33rd annual Harry Sutter Memorial run, hosted by Torrance’s Community Services Department, will start from the Sam’s Club Parking Lot at Torrance Crossroads Center, traverse three miles, and end back at the parking lot. The organizers may make use of banner printing to direct participants.
A raffle after the run will award dinner vouchers, mountain bikes, memberships for gyms, and other prizes. The raffle will be held at 9:15 am and winners must be present.
Registration is available until November 15 at the Torrance Community Services Department, 3031 Torrance Boulevard, Torrance, from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Registration is also available online with a fee of $30.
Late registration will be available for $35 from 6:30 am – 7:30 am just before the race begins. All runners who register in advance will pick up a free commemorative T-shirt. Late registrations will receive a T-shirt in due course.
Race packets will be available for pick up between 11:00 am – 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 21 at the Ken Miller Recreation Center on Torrance Boulevard, or from 6:30 am – 7:30 am just before the race.
Spectators and runners can also bring a non-perishable food can for the food drive to benefit the needy in the South Bay. No animals or wheeled vehicles will be allowed on the course. For more information call (310) 618-2930.
