In order to compete in a tech savvy world, businesses need to market every way they can and mobile apps are at the top – a message that will no doubt be reinforced at one particular event this weekend.
The jQuery Mobile 6 Hour Jumpstart Mobile Application Training Class will be held at 8:30 am on Saturday, June 15 at the Courtyard Los Angeles, 2633 West Sepulveda Boulevard in Torrance. A second class will be held on Saturday, June 29.
The workshop is presented by the South Bay Mobile User Group and will present intermediate to advanced information on mobile web development for client side user interfaces. The class will cover both tablets and smartphones.
Students should bring their own laptops with them to the class as they will complete the production of an app called ‘Coffee, Coffee, Coffee’, which will locate all local coffee shops. Admission is $30.
The workshop will be led by instructor Troy Miles, a senior software engineer for Kelley Blue Book. His experience includes both front and back end development using Java Script and jQuery.
On the other side of the spectrum, a Catwalk Workshop will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 15, at World Fitness Club, 3411 Tweedy Boulevard in South Gate.
This workshop is geared to anyone who is interested in becoming a runway fashion show model. It will be led by D’Jesus Trujillo, runway coach to celebrities. Local printing services are frequently used to create instruction manuals for everything from computer instructions to walkway techniques.
