A (g)host of Halloween activities in Torrance
October 13, 2012 by Mark
Torrance families looking for a safe alternative to trick-or-treating will enjoy the Halloween carnival at Charles H. Wilson Park.
The carnival will be held from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 31, with a costume parade at 6:30 pm. Food vendors will be offering a selection of frightful foods. Activities include crafts, carnival games, face painting, and music by DJ Ozzy. A special spooky photo booth will also be available for fun photos. Game booths and prizes will be available for children, although please note that dogs are not permitted at the event.
Admission is $9 per wristband, which admits the wearer to unlimited games, and wristbands are for children only. Wilson Park is located at 2200 Crenshaw Boulevard. For more information, call (310) 618-2930.
On the morning of Halloween, meanwhile, families can visit the Walteria Library located at 3815 West 242nd Street, where readers in costume will get a special treat. Call (310) 375-8418 to find out more about this.
Residents favoring scarier Halloween fare can visit the Revenge of the Ninja Haunt at the Way of the Shadow Martial Arts Academy, 18727 Crenshaw Boulevard. Admission is free but a $5 donation would be appreciated. The haunt, featuring a maze, will be open from 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm from October 27 – 31.
Halloween marks the beginning of the holiday season and the beginning of invitation season. For those who need inspiration for invites, a print company is a great place to visit for ideas.
