Temecula to host health and wellness fair

September 19, 2012 by

The city of Temecula will bring together a variety of health and wellness organizations in an upcoming fair designed for all ages.

The 2nd annual Health and Wellness Fair will offer free prostate exams, screenings for bone density, vision, skin damage, cholesterol and glucose levels, blood pressure, and dental checkups. To make an appointment for the prostate exam, call (951) 698-1901 ext. 232.

This will be an excellent opportunity to get a jump on the flu season, with flu shots from Walgreens.
There will also be entertainment, food vendors, and prize opportunities.

Among the vendors participating will be a representative from Medicare Advantage with information for seniors on their 2013 programs. ‘Be The Match’, a national bone marrow donation program, will be signing up donors at the fair as possible donors for those with leukemia, lymphoma, or other life-threatening diseases.

A Better Tomorrow, a drug and alcohol treatment program, will have a questionnaire for participants to take to see if they need to make a change in their lives.

The Braille Institute will have information on low-vision wellness and representatives will be available with information from the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, and from Senator Joel Anderson’s office.

Not all vendors are health related, however. For those who need a little fun and excitement, Pechanga Resort and Casino will have a representative offering free entertainment vouchers.

Taking place from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 29, the new Temecula Civic Center is the venue and is located at 41000 Main Street, Temecula. Flyer printing may be in use to distribute information before and during the fair.
