Temecula Rod Run among the highlights in March

February 28, 2013 by

Dozens of old cars will line the streets of downtown Temecula in just over a week.

The 2013 Rod Run will feature a cruise night on Friday, March 8, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a car show on Saturday, March 9 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Residents should make plans to use alternate routes, as the event will cause road closures on Old Town Front Street from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and 5:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday.

Free parking will be available in the Civic Center parking lot located on the corner of Second and Mercedes Streets. Handicap parking will be available in the Second Street parking lot. For more information, call (951) 444-5763.

Locals who are not excited by cars and are more fond of bluegrass will not want to miss the Temecula Bluegrass Festival, which will be held March 16 – 17. A dozen of the top bluegrass bands from across the country are scheduled to perform, including Scott Gates and Salty Suites, Silverado Bluegrass Band, Bluegrass Etc., and the Bluegrass Brethren.

Dry camping is available for RVs and costs $30 for the weekend. Visitors should bring chairs. For vendor information, call (951) 678-1456.

Public parking is free, and both events will be a great opportunity to spend some family time in the area. Banner printing is one printing service that can be used to highlight festivals and mark the location of public events for residents and visitors.
