Studio City invited to a garden party

August 28, 2016 by

The Autry National Center will be home to ‘More Than a Cone’s 2016 Avant Garden Party’ coming early in September.

The party will be a coming together of fashion, music and art, and will be a fundraiser for Southern California animal rescues.

Highlights will be the International Cone Art Showcase. Art from the showcase will be on sale at the event and at the online auction going on now. There will be live painting by Philip Bennett Walker. Money from all art sales will go directly to Kitten Rescue Los Angeles, Priceless Pets and Angel City Pit Bulls.

The party will also include a short film fest and a runway Cone Fashion Show that will feature Aston Models.

Live music will be provided by pop band WASH, indie-electronic duo MRCH, indie pop rockers DWNTWN, and synth-pop singer Chela. DJ ManCat will also be on the agenda.

Food and beverages will be brought in by Crossroads West. Guests may purchase vegan and vegetarian options, as well as the restaurant’s regular cuisine.

Studio City families can see rescued animals, and pet adoptions will be available on site. There is still time for animal lovers to get this information out to animal-friendly organizations before their September newsletter printing.

The party will be Saturday, September 10, at The Autry, 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles. The evening will start a 7:00 pm and end at 11:00 pm.
