2012 Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival scheduled for Sept 15 and 16
May 4, 2012 by Mark
Central Park will be the setting for the 2012 Santa Clara Art and Wine Festival in September. The park covers over 50 acres including picnic areas, a lake, cool grassy areas and an abundance of trees.
The purpose of the event is to bring community groups and support together to generate money for local charities. It has generated thousands and thousands of dollars over the years for charities in the Santa Clara area.
With over 175 booths placed throughout the park showcasing the specialties of the presenting artists, the festival has become a tradition in this bay area city. It brings dozens of talented artists displaying their works of art which include paintings, jewelry, accessories and other special handcrafts. Also included in the festivities are vendor booths featuring wines, international foods and micro-brewed beer.
Another major festival attraction is Kid’s Kingdom which consists of carnival rides, a playground, games and other fun activities for children.
There will be three stages with live entertainment throughout the event. The Meadow Stage is found in a grassy meadow area of the park and will feature local performers. The Pavilion will host musicians covering many musical genres throughout the weekend. Entertaining performances will also be presented live in the Kid’s Kingdom.
