San Rafael a month away from light show
October 29, 2013 by Mark
The 34th Annual Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland will light up San Rafael towards the end of next month. Produced by Steven Restivo Event Services, LLC, the event will include a host of fun family-friendly activities.
A parade is scheduled for 5:30 pm on the Friday night, with many people expected to attend. Live entertainment will also take place throughout the weekend.
Snow sledding is a favorite and will take place on the Friday, while a marketplace with vendor booths will be available as well. The vendors will present gifts, crafts, food, and unique items. Many of them will probably use the services of local print companies, since business card printing in advance of the event allows the vendors to have an adequate supply to distribute. Handing out the business cards ideally will develop future business.
Following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a host of costumed characters will accompany the Mayor of San Rafael to the city center in the plaza to light the holiday tree. After the tree lighting, Santa and his friends will be on hand to meet and greet families and children.
The event will take place over the weekend of November 29-30 and is free to the public. Parking validations will be given for three hours free of charge.
Vendor applications can be found on the event website. Vendors are encouraged to provide their own battery powered lights due to the time of year. More information is available via the website.
