Parade of Lights part of the Winter Wonderland event in San Rafael

September 27, 2012 by

In just a couple of months, the San Rafael community can look forward to the 33rd Annual Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland.

Set to take place from November 23 – 24. Festivities kick off on the Friday from midday to 4:30 pm with snow sledding and again from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The marketplace will open at 2:00 pm providing a variety of vendors and exhibitors displaying and selling their unique arts, crafts, products, and gifts.

The parade will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by a visit from Santa and Mrs Claus, along with other characters. Accompanying this holiday group will be the Mayor of San Rafael as they move to the center of the town to light the holiday tree. After the tree lighting, children will have an opportunity to meet Santa, Ms. Claus, and their special friends.

Admission is free and, since it is the day after Thanksgiving, neighborhood retailers and event vendors expect to be busy with shoppers working on their holiday shopping lists as they stroll through the downtown area.

A lot of planning goes into events of this caliber, often including utilizing printing services from local print companies for several projects. Banner Printing is quite common, as banners are usually placed throughout a large event to direct visitors to specific areas and performances. Business card printing and poster printing are also regularly carried out in anticipation.
