Farmers Market to return to San Rafael

December 19, 2013 by

The downtown San Rafael Farmers Market will return to the area in April, running every Thursday from then up until September. Among the biggest events in the area, the return of the market is much anticipated each year.

More than 200 vendors participate in the weekly market selling a wide variety of food and fresh produce. The vendors must meet certain criteria to participate. Banner printing is a common task in advance of the farmers markets for local printers. Normally, the company name and products sold are included on the banner to interest people to stop by.

Entertainment is provided at the Thursday markets with five different stages included each week. Many of the local merchants also set up their booths outside their stores, restaurants, and bars to introduce visitors to their products and services. Artists typically set up their displays on the downtown streets as well, giving visitors a chance to purchase an original from a local artist.

The San Rafael Market has been in business for over 20 years contributing to the local economy. In addition to bringing residents and visitors into a social setting, the city is recognized for its community spirit. Neighboring cities from across the region participate and attend the market events.

The season has been scheduled to kick-off on April 3, beginning at 6:00 pm, and will then continue on a weekly basis. Activities take place on Fourth Street in downtown San Rafael. Visit the event website for complete information and vendor applications.
