SummerFest to shine on San Mateo

April 29, 2013 by

The Downtown San Mateo Association will be presenting the 2013 SummerFest this June. Located in Northern California along the San Francisco Peninsula, the venue is about 15 miles south of the city. The festival is expected to draw attendees from many cities and towns within the bay region.

The historic downtown San Mateo neighborhood is popular for its shopping and dining and will be bustling with activity during the SummerFest.

The festival will feature cooking demonstrations, entertainment, family-friendly activities, and arts and crafts.

Food vendors will be an integral part of the event, offering a range of tasty treats. The vendors are expected to work with local print companies in preparation for booth set-up and marketing. Flyer printing is a common request in order for material to be distributed prior to the event to stimulate interest and boost attendance.

The Downtown San Mateo Association (DSMA) provides marketing assistance to business members in addition to helping with business development. The DSMA hosts many mixers and open houses, along with participating in several fundraisers to benefit the community. The association also works to attract various industries to the area to strengthen the economy.

There will be a chef demo presentation involving chefs from local restaurants showing off their culinary creations. Entertainment will be provided throughout the event.

Sponsors are an important part of ensuring success for the local events. Several entities have already registered to be a sponsor, but more are always welcome.

Visit the event website for more information regarding the festival, schedule, and vendor and sponsor procedures. It all takes place on June 22 and 23.
