March 28, 2013 by Mark
The San Mateo County Fair, celebrating its 79th year, will get underway in June of this year.
Originally started as the ‘Little Flower Show’ in 1926, the event was performed in a range oflocations, such as schools and garden clubs. A few years later in 1935, the show moved to Bay Meadows Racetrack and has been there ever since under its current name of San Mateo County Fair.
The San Mateo County Event Center located on the land has eight buildings now in use almost every weekend. Special events frequently utilize the printing services of local print companies to help market the activities.
Entertainment is a key attraction at the fair and includes concerts, strolling performers, and various individual routines throughout the nine-day event. Daily contests are also featured, with prizes being awarded.
Competitive exhibits will be part of the activities, with many vendors offering food items, gifts, clothing, and arts and crafts. Vendors often use printers to handle business card printing so they have an ample supply to distribute from their booths.
Many companies take part in sponsoring the fair, and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Butler Amusements will bring its carnival attractions to the fair, which is a favorite of young and old. From the giant Ferris wheel to the other rides, games, attractions, and food concessions, everyone loves a carnival.
