Wine on the way in San Fran

‘Sipping in the Vaults: Wine Tasting at the Historic Old Mint’, presented by Flipside and Wineluv, will soon take place in the historic vaults located under The Old Mint.

The building was built in 1874 and is a San Francisco landmark. In its height of glory, over a third of the country’s gold reserves wealth was kept in the vaults.

Approximately 10 vintners from the Bay area will present their fine wines in the grand old vaults. El Porteno will provide the food and DJ Jacob will keep the music flowing along with the wine and fun.

The history of the Old Mint will be displayed in a fascinating exhibition and tours led by docents will be conducted through the vaults. A wine raffle will take place later in the evening.

FlipSide is a program within the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society with the goal of developing a younger generation of history buffs interested specifically in San Francisco. Several events are held annually benefitting the Old Mint museum and associated projects.

Wineluv provides merchant services to wineries and related businesses through social media and email campaigns through its specialized website. Wine offers and deals, wine related events, and tickets to various tastings throughout the region are commonly presented.

Vintners frequently work with printing companies in preparing materials such as labels, menus, and catalog printing. Catalogs list all of the wines available through the winery along with descriptions and history of the wines. They are then made available at the winery as well as at special events.

The event will take place February 27, beginning at 6:30 pm.
