San Diego’s 2012 Light The Night Walk just over a month away

September 22, 2012 by

Taking place at the Petco Park in San Diego, the 2012 Light The Night Walk is scheduled to make its mark this November.

‘Light The Night Walk: Taking Steps to Cure Cancer™’ hosts fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society across the country throughout the year. Each participating walker is encouraged to raise at least $100 to help the battle against cancer of the blood.

Teams and individuals are invited to participate in the walk and, upon raising $100, will receive a T-shirt along with a wrist band. The wrist band entitles the walker to food and beverages at the event. The funds will be allocated to research, educational materials, local support and counseling programs, and personal resource center assistance.

A variety of illuminated balloons will be carried by the walkers, in the colors of white, red, or gold, representing survivors, supporters, and lost loved ones respectively. All ages are invited to participate in this one-hour, leisurely-paced walk. Strollers and wheelchairs may be used but bikes, skates, scooters, and skateboards are not permitted.

Frequently, local printing companies work with event organizers in preparing marketing materials to promote the event. Flyer and poster printing are common projects at charitable events like this, as both flyers and posters can easily be distributed and hung in high traffic areas or outlets. Catalog printing can also provide a great resource for listing the activities, participants, time schedules, rules, and sponsors.

The night walk will take place on November 2, beginning at 6:00 pm. For more information, or to register for this event, visit the Light The Night website.
