San Diego to get on the run
March 20, 2013 by Mark
The Rock ‘n Roll Marathon in San Diego has been confirmed to be taking place this June, no doubt attracting thousands of participants and spectators.
To kick off the event, May 31 and June 1 will see over 60 exhibitors occupying booth space and featuring theirs specialties while offering free samples. Some of the exhibits will include running gear, sports apparel, outdoor merchandise, souvenirs, health and nutritional items, and other fun things. The expo will take place at the San Diego Convention Center and is open to the general public.
ChronoTrack timing systems will be used at the marathon to record runners’ starting times and finishing statistics. It uses a disposable D-tag which attaches to the race bib. Instructions are provided at time of registration to activate the tag.
Each marathon participant will receive a special Brooks t-shirt, an official finisher certificate and medal, a swag bag full of goodies, free admission to the festival and post-race concert, and a two-day pass to the Health and Fitness Expo.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners will enter a Secure Zone, which is a fenced off area for participants only, for photos, medal, and refreshments.
Print companies are typically very involved in events like the marathon. They provide sign and banner printing, as banners are important for guiding runners in the appropriate direction during and after the event.
Visit the event website for complete information and to register for the marathon, which itself is set for June 2
