Beethoven’s Emperor featuring Lang Lang at Copley Symphony Hall

September 22, 2012 by

Lang Lang, the famous international piano star, will be appearing at the Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego in early October to kick off the season opening with the Opus Gala.

The Gala is very much the black tie party of the year. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto will be performed by Lang Lang with Jahja Ling directing. The orchestra opens with Fidelio Overture under the direction of Maestro Ling. Also, pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky will present a collection of arrangements by various composers.

The opening party for the season will take place on Friday, October 5, from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm, and will offer appetizers from culinary partners from around the community. Guests are invited to join the party in the Symphony Towers next to the ticket office, since admission to the opening party is free with the purchase of a ticket. Availability is limited, however.

Quite often, symphony and orchestra organizers work with printing companies in ordering print services such as flyer and catalog printing for events like this one. Catalogs are generally used as programs and distributed to guests as they arrive, usually containing a schedule of events, a directory of performers, and biographical information for each. They serve as a nice souvenir for attendees, as well.

Concert tickets are on sale for this October 5 – 7 event and sponsorship opportunities are available. The San Diego Symphony is partnered with some of the most prestigious companies in California. Its website has complete information and ticket purchase options.
