San Clemente jazz enthusiasts invited to Ocean Institute Jazz Festival
February 25, 2014 by Mark
San Clemente epicureans will soon have the opportunity to enjoy fine dining and smooth Jazz. To see the weekend in, the Ocean Institute will be holding a three-day Jazz Festival fundraising event to benefit its many programs.
Opening night will feature a silent auction and a wine, appetizer, and dessert reception for 300 guests. This will be followed by a concert featuring Peter White and his acoustic guitar, the contemporary pianist David Benoit, and singer/songwriter Spencer Day.
There will also be a silent auction the second night, plus a live auction and a cocktail reception followed by a four-course gourmet dinner. Music will be provided by the same artists as the first night.
On Sunday, guests will receive box lunches, along with a wine and cheese tasting. The entertainment afterwards will be provided by Eric Marienthal, a contemporary jazz saxophonist. This powerful entertainer has garnered six Grammy nominations and has played with the likes of Al Hirt, Elton John, Barbra Streisand, and Billy Joel. A meet-and-greet afterwards will give admirers a chance to take pictures for future postcard printing.
The Festival will kick off Friday, February 28 and wrap up March 2, 2014 at the Ocean Institute, 24200 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point, California. Ticket prices vary from $150 single day attendance to $700 for the deluxe VIP package.
