Red carpet event in San Clemente helped raise funds for pets

Approximately 150 guests watched the Oscar Awards at the Annual ‘A Tail of Two Cities’ fundraising event on Sunday, February 24.

The fundraiser is presented each year by the Pet Project Foundation, though this was the first year in which it incorporated an Oscars theme. Proceeds from the evening went to benefit abandoned or lost animals residing in the San Clemente/Dana Point Animal Shelter.

This year’s fundraising event happened to coincide with the Oscar Awards themselves. Treats with an awards night theme were served to guests and television sets were set up to broadcast the live Oscar Awards in Hollywood. Guests, who paid $150 for a ticket to the fundraising festivities, were even greeted with their very own red carpet.

Prestigious fundraising activities and other less formal charity events might use the printing services of local print companies for banner printing. Brochure printers may also be necessary to print up pamphlets detailing the charity cause.

In addition to the delightful hors d’oeuvres and Academy Award broadcast, guests at the event enjoyed a contest for accurate picks on who would win the Oscars, as well as a three-course dinner prepared by renowned chefs from the Laguna Cliffs Marriot Resort & Spa. Prizes were awarded for those with the most accurate picks.

The San Clemente/Dana Point Animal Shelter promotes spay and neutering programs, presents programs at area school, and offers a third chance program. It also supports animals with special needs.
