Business fair and family entertainment set to roll in

The San Clemente Pier will soon be transformed into the site of a community gathering offering a marketing platform for local businesses, as well as entertainment for the entire family.
Early next month, the city’s chamber of commerce will be playing host to the annual Seafest celebration. Business card printing is likely on the increase as entrepreneurs from the area prepare to promote their products and services.
Seafest has now been a tradition in San Clemente for 26 years. One of its main highlights continues to be the Chowder Cook-Off. This year, restaurants, businesses, and individual citizens will again be competing to impress judges and attendees with their versions of this popular soup dish. Visitors from across the United States are expected to offer their input as to which clam chowder is the best-tasting.
The event will also feature a business exposition. Dozens of enterprises will be setting up booths to initiate contact with new customers. All participating parties will be members of the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees will enjoy their choice of seafood meals from Fisherman’s Restaurant and Bar. Dishes will include lobster, oyster, and crab.
The event will also include a surfing contest for children and teenagers. Southern California-based vendors will be selling arts and crafts, and kids will have a chance to create their own keychains and jewelry. Shot in the Dark, a youth band, will entertain the crowd with rock music.
Seafest is set for Sunday, October 6. It will run from 9:30 am until 3:00 pm.
