Sacramento flower lovers invited to ‘Bloom’ spring event

The weather may not be cooperating for spring flowers just yet, but fear not, all of Sacramento can enjoy the vibrant colors of flowers by taking a short trip just west of the metro area, to the Pense Gallery, where they have already begun to think Spring in their exhibition of ‘Bloom’.

Although the exhibition has already had its opening this past week, Floral Weekend is coming up later this month and it promises to be a sight to behold.

Floral Weekend will be a two-day celebration of flowers presented by local artists. Although interest in flowers as subjects for artwork died down in the 1900s, awareness has blossomed as artists have moved into abstract and mixed media. The second day will be dedicated to ‘Bloom Demo Day’.

Throughout both afternoons on artists will be giving a series of talks, meanwhile, visitors will be inundated with spring fragrances as they pass through the gallery—vibrant spring flower arrangements will be accompanying the artwork. Also, local designers will be demonstrating floral arranging. The event should prove a great way for printing companies to acquire art for display in their offices and possibly gain clients for printing reproductions of artists’ work.

The Floral Weekend will be held March 15-16 from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Pense Gallery, 212 D Street, Davis, California. Bloom Demo Day will be Sunday, March 16 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
