Five new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market stores come to area

A total of five Neighborhood Market stores were scheduled to be opened by Wal-Mart in the Sacramento and surrounding area yesterday, September 19. The stores are located at in Granite Bay, Stockton, Lincoln, Modesto, and Sacramento itself. Grand opening celebrations were to be held at each of the sites as the stores opened on Wednesday at 8:00 am.

Banner printing is often used at these types of celebrations to announce Grand Opening events and welcome customers to a new store. With so many stores opening up in the same area, it seems likely that other area businesses will have jumped at the opportunity to draw in more customers as shoppers flocked to the grand opening events. Local businesses were probably running a few sales and promotions of their own in order to attract shoppers in the area, using flyer printing and poster printing to announce the promotions.

Wal-Mart’s Neighborhood Market stores were started in 1998 as a convenient way for customers to shop for groceries, general merchandise, and pharmaceutical items all in one spot. The chain now boasts more than 200 Neighborhood Market stores across the nation.

In total, the five new stores should bring approximately 350 jobs to the area. These positions will be a combination of full and part-time jobs. The stores will all be open around the clock. Wal-Mart also announced in August that the chain has plans to open even more stores in Carmichael and Elk Grove at some point this fall.
