Fourth of July fun in Roseville will feature parade and more

Roseville will be celebrating the upcoming Fourth of July in high style.

The fun will begin early in the morning with the Run Crime Out Of Roseville 5K/10 K Fun Run/Walk. Kids running in the Kids’1 /4th Mile Run will get to run with the Roseville SWAT team and uniformed officers. Teams of five can challenge the Roseville Police Department in the race. Proceeds from this activity will go to scholarships for our youth, specialized equipment for our law enforcement and toward educating our citizens about crime in our area.

The annual parade will come later in the morning. The parade will have non-profit and commercial/business units marching heralded by banners. There will be band and drum corps, marchers in specialized units, decorated vehicles, equestrians, and drill and dance groups.

Royer Park will host patriotic-themed activities. These will include bounce houses, carnival games and food vendors. The Capitol Pops Concert Band will be providing the music.

The day’s festivities will end with the traditional fireworks display at the fairgrounds.

The big day will be July 4th. The 10K run will begin at 7:20n am with the 5K following at 7:45 in Royer Park. The kids’ 1/4th mile run will start at 8:45 am. The parade will step off in Royer Park at Vernon Street at 9:00 am. Fireworks will be at Placer County Fairgrounds at 9:30 pm.
