The 21st Annual King Harbor Christmas Boat Parade will be presented by the King Harbor Yacht Club tomorrow, December 15, in Redondo Beach at King Harbor’s main channel. This year’s Grand Marshall will be the famous Bo Derek.

As in previous years, the parade will be lead off with the Body Glove yacht Disappearance. ‘A Christmas Wish’ is this year’s theme and the boats that will be participating in the event will be judged in a number of various categories. Awards will be handed out in the categories of Best Costumes, Best Animation, Best Lighting, Best in Fleet, and Best Execution. An Overall Winner award will also be presented.

The winners of each category in the boat parade will be given the opportunity to have their picture taken with the lovely Bo Derek. Spectators who wish to observe the parade from the shore can find a number of good vantage points from the Redondo Beach Pier or at several of the restaurants in the area that have harbor views.

Events such as the annual King Harbor Christmas Boat Parade bring in a number of spectators. The extra tourists and spectators in the area could mean added business for local shops, stores, and other retail shops. Businesses often run special promotions during local events and advertise through banner printing, flyer printing, and other printed materials provided by local print companies. The restaurants along the pier are also likely to run a variety of special promotions.
