Sparkling Christmas trio comes to Redding

November 8, 2016 by

Three Redding Christmas traditions this year will be a theater presentation, a holiday fair, and the 2016 Redding Lighted Christmas Parade.

For the 12th year, an all-new original story will come to life on the local stage. The plot will be a train ride on the Holly Railway. Curt from Detroit, thinking that he will be spending the holidays with his grandma, has found out too late that he is on the wrong train.

This will be the tenth year for Gifts for Good; a holiday gift fair that will be offering gifts for shoppers who are environmentally conscious. Around 20 eco-friendly community organizations will have gifts for sale. Fair Trade chocolate, teas, coffee and artisan handcrafts and holiday cards will also be available.

“Twas the Light Before Christmas” is this year’s theme of the Redding Lighted Christmas Parade. The parade will go on rain or shine, so spectators will want to dress accordingly.

The Cascade Theatre will be the location of Cascade Christmas. The show will be presented November 25 through 27, and December 1 through 4 at 2:00 pm. The theatre is located at 1733 Market Street, Redding.

The Gifts for Good Holiday Fair will be December 4 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church Redding, 1825 East Street.

The parade will start at 6:00 pm on December 3 and proceed through Downtown Redding.
