Redding set for the last big western music event of the year

August 22, 2013 by

Dedicated to leaving a legacy of musicianship and traditional values to the next generation, the California State Old Time Fiddlers Association of District 6 hosts events to showcase live music and local talent. Their Old Time Fiddle Jam & Open Mic is presented in a festival format and has one last performance for the year.

Anyone who plays traditional music of the west is welcome to attend and perform. Visitors can expect an eclectic mix of fiddle, folk, bluegrass, Celtic, western swing, and more, with the opportunity to tour the grounds to listen to the variety of performers. The main stage is available to each for one to three songs.

The community of Redding is invited to attend, whether performing or not. The venue, Millville Grange, will have food available. Local organizations can show support for the musicians and neighborhood with flyer printing. This is an outdoor concert, so flyers are an ideal medium for sharing information and garnering attention. Poster printing is appreciated as well.

The afternoon of music and culinary delights begins at 1:00pm, playing until 3:00pm or later on Sunday, August 25th. The Millville Grange Hall at 22037 Old 44 Drive, Palo Cedro, CA 96073, is hosting the festivities. All ages are welcome; admission and parking are free.
